Revisiting how we work in encaustic

A little refresh of techniques and shift in perspective on the tools we use in our art practice can have a huge impact on our work and how we approach our craft.
A 6 hour workshop where we will take a fresh look and approach at how we work in encaustic.

Time will be split in to two 3 hour sessions over two days. 10:00am - 1:00pm will be virtual workshop allowing participants time in the afternoon for independent work.

Some of the topics covered but not limited to covered in the workshop.
Surface preparation.
Creating a smooth surface using encaustic medium.
Substrates and substrate alternatives.
Torch talk and heat guns
Marking, making marks on, in and under the wax surface
Making the most of the heated palette. Colour mixing, blending and glazing.
Colour talk
Working with pigment sticks
Image transfer (time allowing )

Recording available for replay in virtual class room for 2 months
